A milking parlor is a building or part of a building where dairy cows are milked and milk-related operations, such as collection, cooling, storage and transport, are performed. Therefore, the design of the building should be such as to provide a suitable environment for humans and livestock. It should be noted that the milking center is one of the most complex buildings in a dairy.

Simple hall
This type of salon was the simplest milking parlor which is only suitable for small farms.
Tandem halls
These types of halls, known as tandems or side systems, are designed and built in such a way that dairy cows enter through a door and exit after being milked in front of the front door. In this type of halls, each cow has its own place, which has one entrance and one dedicated exit.
Herringbone Halls
Another type of milking parlor is the herringbone system. This system is found in abundance in farms. In these halls, cows are placed diagonally and back to back and milked. Each section has its own entrance and exit door.
After milking a row, cows can leave the dedicated exit of that row.
Polygonal halls
Another type of milking parlor is a triangular hall. These halls are economical and cost-effective for large farms with at least 400 cows. This type of hall has two entrances and two exits.
Parallel halls
These types of halls are back to back and the cows are placed back to back. In this system the cows in each row is entered and after complete milking, the exit door of each row is opened and the cows are exited.
Rotating or revolving halls
Modern type of milking parlors are rotating systems. These types of modern milking parlors are very efficient and can be built and established in a small space, and their construction is expensive, but they are very efficient. This milking is suitable for farms with a capacity of between 200 and 2000 dairy cows and milking cows with maximum efficiency.
